Florian Keller alongside partners Michael Reinboth (Compost Records, Beanfield) and Theo Thönnessen (into somethin' recordshop & radioshow) started the legendary club night "Into Somethin'" in Munich in 1991, in that time the night has grown from a small low key affair to one of the most important clubs on the European scene. Florian also runs the club night "Superflo" now in its 8th year where he purely lays down the original raw funk 45's. He can be heard on the radio show "Into Somethin'" every Wednesday at 22.00 to 00.00(german time I presume) FM 94.5 mhz, radio m94.5, munich / Germany or online at www.m945.afk.de/m/live.ram

1: Beatles - White Album (Apple 2LP)
You never forget your 1st, right?

2: V/A - That's Black Music (K-Tel LP)

Flea-market catch when I was 10. There was hardly any soul on German radio in 1976 and this one had "Move on Up" & "Sex Machine" on it. Initial Blast-Off! [I think this may have been one of my first soul lps also!]

3: Marvin Gaye - What's Going On (Talma LP)

Just the best album ever made.

4: Alvin Cash - The Creep (Seventy Seven 7")

My first Funk 45. So that truely seems to be the record that changed my life the most...

5: Clash - Sandinista (Columbia 3LP)

Best fitting record to those desperate teen-age days. And what a record!

6: De La Soul - 3 Feet High And Rising (Tommy Boy LP)

No comment nescessairy.

7: Mary Queenie Lyons: See And Don't See (De Luxe 7")

THE best Funk tune period. Fuck the sound engineer & producer who faded that unbeatable beauty out.

8: Poets Of Rhythm - Funky Train (Hotpie & Candy 7")

Changed my life because this one ended my short career as a lousy Conga-player (& the boys did good in turning down the percussion-volume as much as possible)

9: Webster Lewis - Would You Believe (Counterpoint LP)

Hypnotizing. again & again and still after all those years.

10: Larry Ellis & The Black Hammer - Funky Thing (Al King 7")

Still can't believe how much energy you can transfer into seven inches of flat plastic.
