Eddie Bo

Eddie Bo is one of New Orleans true musical masters, from 1955 to present day he has recorded and worked for over 40 different labels, some majors, some of them so small that very little is known about them and many more that were his own. He worked with the top singers and musicians of the region including The Lastie brothers, Alvin 'Red' Tyler,Irma Thomas, James Black, Tommy Ridgley, Johnny Adams, Art Neville amongst many others. Bo worked just about every day of his life throughout the fifties, sixties and most of the seventies either writing, recording, producing, arranging or lending his talent to other performers as a session musician. Eddie played on many hit records - often uncredited. His songs were covered by artists such as Little Richard with "Slippin' and Slidin" and Etta James with "My Dearest Darling"

So why have you never heard of him? Well, Eddie is also one of the most criminally overlooked artists - the volume of his work is staggering. Yet the passing of time has wrongfully relegated this master to the shadows from where he has become one of the most respected musicians in the Nola music scene.
